This year\u2019s competition, under the theme &#8220;Greenovation,&#8221; saw 36 student entrepreneurs from nine African countries\u2014Eswatini, Ghana, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe\u2014present their innovative solutions in climate action, biodiversity, agriculture, and sustainable resource management as they competed for cash prizes and the title of Africa\u2019s top young entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event, organized annually, is part of JA Africa\u2019s acclaimed Company Program, which equips students with practical business skills by helping them start and run their own student-led companies. The grand prize was awarded to Tanzania&#8217;s Bloomtech, which earned top honors for its groundbreaking innovation, <strong>OptiGrow<\/strong>\u2014an AI-powered app featuring a virtual advisor that supports farmers in maximizing yield and minimizing environmental impact, even when offline and without smartphones. The team was awarded a trophy, a $1,000 cash prize, and the opportunity to compete globally at the JA Worldwide\u2019s Ralph De la Vega Global Entrepreneurship competition, where they stand to win a $15,000 cash prize along with valuable educational opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second-place accolade was claimed by <strong>Mauritius\u2019 Aquaglow,<\/strong> who received an $800 cash prize.
