Harare \u2013 23 August: JA Zimbabwe has announced the appointment of Munyaradzi Allen Chinhanhu as the new Executive Director. Allen commences his new role on 23 August 2021. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in operations management, business development, program management, strategic planning, business management training and mentorship, and active team leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Chinhanhu, speaking about his appointment, said \u201cI am excited to join the JA family and privileged to be given an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the youth in Zimbabwe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
JA Zimbabwe’s Board Chair, David Birch said: \u201cI am pleased to welcome Allen as our new ED.\u00a0 Allen has a very relevant background to the challenges of economically empowering Zimbabwe\u2019s youth and understands very well the need for sustainable partnerships to enable us to deliver on our promise of bridging the gap between classroom education and the world of work. His previous experience in this field will enable Allen to relate well to all of our stakeholders and the Board is confident that we are in safe hands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His appointment is timely and heralds a new era of growth and accelerated development for JA in Zimbabwe. He comes well prepared for the tasks ahead and is poised to scale up and surpass the laudable accomplishments of the Phil and the JA Zimbabwe team. As the lingering aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic begins to redefine the landscape and opportunity space for jobs and work across Zimbabwe and globally, Allen\u2019s leadership, energy, vision and \u2018partnership credentials\u2019 will be pivotal to JA Zimbabwe\u2019s mandate of delivering JA\u2019s work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship offerings to Zimbabwe\u2019s fast-growing youth population.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His predecessor, Phil Mlambo who is now Chief Operating Officer at JA Africa, said; \u201cI could not have asked for a better successor than Allen whose presence I felt on the very first day I met him. His fundraising experience and knowledge of the landscape will spur JA Zimbabwe on.
