JA programs such as JA Job shadow help students assess their personal skills, interests, and values; understand the economic benefits of education; explore career options; learn job-hunting skills; and practice personal and business financial management. On 1st<\/sup> June, 2018, JA Tanzania took 30 students from five high schools in Dar es Salaam for a Job Shadow at Coca-Cola Kwanza Limited. Schools which participated in the JA \/COCACOLA Job shadow were:<\/p>\n

  1. Jangwani Secondary \u2013 5 students,<\/li>\n
  2. Azania Secondary \u2013 5 students,<\/li>\n
  3. Tambaza High School \u2013 10 students,<\/li>\n
  4. Kisutu High School \u2013 5 students and<\/li>\n
  5. Zanaki Secondary \u2013 5 students<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    Students had an opportunity to learn the history of Coca-Cola, visit all the production departments and see how different products are produced and the chemistry behind it. The students also had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more on the entrepreneurial spirit and team work from Coca-Cola staff who spent a day with students and share their experiences with them.\u00a0JA Tanzania extends its deep appreciation to Mr.John Hancock for his donation to make this possible.<\/p>\n

    The feedback showed that the students valued learning about how many small units can work together to make an organisation a success \u2013 winning together. Observations from other activities also helped them to appreciate the fact that achieving results in the workplace required commitment. The mentoring process prepared students for the workplace and enabled them to align their expectations and interests to the working environment. Coca Cola employees were able to provide an opportunity to the students to know what it feels like when they fulfil their career dreams.<\/p>\n
