JA Africa<\/a> and the African Leadership Academy<\/a> (ALA) have entered into a partnership to mutually support both organizations in achieving their goals of unlocking Africa\u2019s vast youth potential for the continent\u2019s development. Through this relationship, JA will support ALA\u2019s recruitment activities across the African continent through its national offices in 14 African countries<\/a> while ALA will provide access to its various entrepreneurial leadership programs across the continent for JA students, staff and other members of the JA network.<\/p>\n ALA\u2019s leadership programs<\/a> include the 2-year pre-university Diploma program, Global Scholars Program, ALA Model African Union and the prestigious\u00a0 Anzisha Prize.<\/p>\n Ultimately, the goal of this engagement is to enhance the shared value both organizations create for African youth. As an example, JA will provide referrals for ALA\u2019s Program Recruitment and Partnerships team to schools, organizations and government officials in countries where JA currently operates<\/a>. In turn, ALA will guarantee invitations to young leaders within the JA network for participation at 2-3 day entrepreneurial leadership camps (BUILD-in-a-Box) hosted in countries where JA currently operates.<\/p>\n About African Leadership Academy<\/p>\n African Leadership Academy seeks to transform Africa by developing a powerful network of over 6,000 leaders who will work together to address Africa\u2019s greatest challenges, achieve extraordinary social impact and accelerate the continent\u2019s growth trajectory.\u00a0 ALA\u2019s leadership model can be distilled into three essential components: seeking young Africans with the potential for leadership, embedding them in the practice of leadership through applied learning, and enabling access to networks of opportunities and resources that will enable their growth, learning, and impact.\u00a0ALA was founded in 2004 by Executive Chairman Fred Swaniker (link to bio) (Ghana), CEO Chris Bradford (link to bio) (U.S.), Acha Leke (Cameroon), and Peter Mombaur (Germany\/South Africa).
