Simi Nwogugu Joins Global Experts to Recognize Africa’s Changemakers at the 2025 Meaningful Business 100 Awards

JA Africa’s President & CEO, Simi Nwogugu, joined a distinguished panel of global experts to select this year’s winners of the 2025 Meaningful Business 100 (MB100) Awards, a global recognition programme celebrating leaders who combine profit and purpose to address the world’s most pressing social and environmental challenges.

The Meaningful Business 100 Awards highlight entrepreneurs, CEOs, investors, and changemakers driving measurable impact in their communities and industries. This year’s cohort features winners from 39 countries, with 26 based in Africa, underscoring the continent’s growing leadership in social innovation and enterprise for good.

Chosen from over 900 nominations across 86 countries, the winners were evaluated by an international judging panel that included representatives from Google, Mastercard, Unilever, Temasek, SAP, and the World Economic Forum. Honourees will receive access to investment opportunities, capacity-building support, and pro bono services from partners including EY, Hogan Lovells, Forster Communications, Green Frontier Capital, Kenya Climate Ventures, and The Portman Estate.

Reflecting on her experience as a judge, Simi Nwogugu said:

“I was especially proud to learn about the work of these amazing African social entrepreneurs who are committed to seeing challenges as opportunities for entrepreneurial success. At JA Africa, we believe that the problems of Africa are best solved by Africans who understand the context and have access to resources that enable them to design and scale homegrown solutions. These winners validate that belief and serve as role models for the millions of young people we reach annually.”

Africa’s Growing Footprint in Impact Leadership

The 2025 MB100 winners illustrate how Africa’s innovators are redefining enterprise through purpose and resilience. From clean water access to sustainable agriculture and digital inclusion, the 26 Africa-based honourees represent the ingenuity driving the continent’s transformation.

For JA Africa, this recognition aligns with our mission to prepare young Africans for future leadership through entrepreneurship education, financial literacy, and work readiness programmes. Each year, we equip over 1 million youth across 23 countries with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to transform ideas into enterprises that create jobs, drive growth, and inspire change.

By participating in global platforms like the Meaningful Business 100, JA Africa reinforces its belief that Africa’s youth are not just participants in the global economy; they are the architects of its future.
