JA Mascareignes continues to drive impact through programs that empower women and youth across Mauritius. The June 2025 report highlights key milestones from the Goal Accelerator program, the upcoming JA Company of the Year (COY) competition, and partnerships that are expanding access to entrepreneurial opportunities.
Goal Accelerator: Advancing Women’s Economic Participation
Launched in August 2024, the Goal Accelerator has supported 51 women across three cohorts, equipping them with entrepreneurial skills, mentorship, and the confidence to build viable businesses. Participants shared positive feedback, citing improved business literacy and increased self-belief as key takeaways.
Delivered in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank Mauritius, the program includes workshops, mentoring, and links to employment or enterprise pathways. A new pilot partnership with MITD Clairfonds has enabled the integration of Goal Accelerator content into vocational training. Seventeen women are currently enrolled and will graduate in September 2025.
JA COY 2025: Youth Action for Climate Transformation
Preparations are in full swing for the 2025 JA Company of the Year competition, themed ACT – Act for Climate Transformation. With over 500 student participants already registered, the program is shaping up to be a vibrant showcase of youth-led innovation for sustainability. The trade fair will take place in July 2025.
JA Mascareignes’ work has also received national media attention, with the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) featuring its programs in February 2025. This recognition affirms JAM’s role in inspiring the next generation of changemakers and building more inclusive economies.
