Lusaka, Zambia – Junior Achievement (JA) Zambia and the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness for young people across the country. The partnership was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), setting the stage for impactful collaboration.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Mwila Chilakata, Executive Director of JA Zambia, and Ms. Namunyuka Jere on behalf of the LuSE CEO. Students from ZCAS University and the University of Zambia (UNZA) were present at the ceremony—young leaders who stand to benefit directly from this new alliance.
What the Partnership Entails
This partnership will focus on several areas designed to equip students with practical knowledge and real-world exposure, including:
- Training Programs
Focused sessions on personal finance, investment, and capital markets for high school and university students. - Student Exposure Visits
Opportunities for students to visit LuSE and gain firsthand insights into how Zambia’s securities market operates. - Guest Lectures and Mentorship
Industry professionals from LuSE will offer mentorship and deliver lectures to deepen students’ financial and business understanding. - Workshops and Innovation Challenges
Platforms for students to apply their skills in entrepreneurial problem-solving and innovation. - Support for JA Company Program
Continued engagement with JA’s flagship program that teaches students to start and manage real businesses.
