2024 Highlights
January
- Held the Inaugural Afrinnovate Youth Challenge, culminating year one of the Social Equity Program which impacted over 17,000 beneficiaries.
March
- Conducted the first Regional LEAD Camp for Girls in Accra, in collaboration with Delta Air Lines, empowering 30 distinguished young women from Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa through a week of intensive mentorship and leadership training.
- JA Africa, in partnership with the Z Zurich Foundation, expanded the Social Equity Program, returning for a second year in Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, and Uganda, while introducing youth-educational experiences in four new countries: Burkina Faso, DR Congo, Tanzania, and Togo.
April
- Announced a transformative partnership with the ExxonMobil Foundation to equip 3,000 African youths with essential STEM skills.
July
- A JA alumnus was named as Executive Director of JA Nigeria, the first in its history.
- Partnered with NxGen COACH Network™, founded by a renowned Harvard Business School Professor, to enhance leadership capabilities among African youth.
October
- Celebrated the 25th Anniversaries of JA Nigeria and JA Zimbabwe, commemorating decades of impact and innovation in youth entrepreneurship education.
November
- Hosted the inaugural ExxonMobil Foundation STEM Africa Regional Finals during the African Energy Week in Cape Town, South Africa.
December
- Conducted the 14th JA Africa Company of the Year Competition in Mauritius, with Bloomtech from Tanzania securing the 2024 COY grand prize.
- Organized the SET4LYF Convening, a pivotal forum that brought together education policymakers, industry leaders, and influencers to strategize on systemic changes and innovative approaches for advancing entrepreneurship education.
- Achieved a record-breaking delivery of over 1.2 million learning experiences in fiscal year 2024, representing a phenomenal 46% growth in outreach.
